Meet Claudia

What if a witch’s greatest strength was her kindness?

Claudia is the worst little witch for miles around—or so everyone thinks. She’s simply too kind! When she fails the entrance exam to the Grand Academy of Magic, an unexpected adventure leads her to a frog farm and then into the human world. Along the way, she discovers that being different can be her greatest strength.

Discover a warm, funny series about kindness, courage, and finding your own way.

The Story Behind Claudia

In Saint-David, a small mountain town just north of Montreal, Canada, there used to be a curious little shop at a crossroads right beside a bike trail. To this day, I’m not quite sure what to call it. It sold coffee, ice cream for children, and all sorts of magical odds and ends that could have come straight out of Harry Potter.

The woman behind the counter was even more wonderfully eccentric than the shop itself. The place had a magic all its own and was always full of children. That’s where the idea for Claudia first came to me. And I promised that woman she would be the heroine of my book.

The little shop is gone now. An ordinary café has taken its place, and I have no idea what became of the woman.

Perhaps she went off to a frog farm?

If you remember her—or happen to know her—please get in touch. I’d love to show her the book she inspired.

Meggie the Corgi

What if your dog could write you a letter—and tell you what she really thinks of you?

Meggie has the perfect life: a loving owner, a cozy bed, and endless games of fetch. Then a tiny kitten arrives—and turns her world upside down. Convinced she’s no longer loved, Meggie writes a farewell letter and sets off to find a new home.

Inspired by my own Pembroke Welsh corgi and told entirely from a dog’s point of view, this funny, heartfelt adventure explores friendship, jealousy, forgiveness, and what it truly means to belong.

The Story Behind the Book

Meggie isn’t just any dog. And she certainly isn’t made up. Even my imagination couldn’t have dreamed up Her Majesty Meggie. She’s real. So are her big ears and her endless obsession with tennis balls. I’ll admit, that obsession can get a little exhausting. Rain or snow, Meggie has no patience for excuses.

The ball must be thrown. And once she takes off after it, she doesn’t let anything—or anyone—get in her way.

She loves absolutely everyone. Except cats. Our neighbor had about sixteen of them. I lost track long ago, but Meggie knew exactly who was who. I’m convinced she knew them not just by sight, but by name. Nothing could get her worked up quite like a cat in the yard. Or in the street. Actually, any cat with the nerve to show up anywhere nearby.

That’s my Meggie. Beautiful, stubborn, and loved by everyone. She’s the inspiration behind these books. I just wrote the stories down. Naturally, she had the final say.

Here I come with the ball, Dad!

Come on, Dad, throw it already! I know you've got the ball in your pocket.

The Big Eyes of Fear,

Monster in the Dark

What if the scariest monster exists

only in your imagination?

Theo has a problem. Something strange is happening in his basement. Mysterious noises echo through the darkness, and he's convinced that a terrifying monster is lurking down there.

But what if things aren't quite what they seem?

Filled with suspense, unexpected twists, and plenty of humor, this heartwarming adventure shows young readers that fear can sometimes play tricks on our minds. And that even the biggest scaredy-cat can discover the courage of a true hero.

The Story Behind the Book

When I was a little boy, I was afraid of the dark. Especially the basement of our old apartment building.

Going down those stairs felt a bit like traveling to Mars. Except Mars probably had better lighting.

Every shadow looked suspicious. Every strange noise meant something terrible was waiting around the corner. And, of course, my imagination was always happy to make things worse.

Years later, I realized something important: the scariest monsters are often the ones we create in our own minds.

That’s how this story was born. A little adventure about fear, imagination, and discovering that courage doesn’t mean never being afraid. It means finding the strength to take one more step, even when your knees are shaking.

Why I Wrote These Books

I originally decided to write these books for the children of our parish—and, thank God, we are blessed with quite a few of them!

I wanted to introduce them to the beautiful stories of the Bible, stories that have been told and treasured for thousands of years. But I wanted to share more than just the stories themselves.

My hope was that children would discover something in them that still matters today—courage, kindness, forgiveness, faith, and hope. Values that have stood the test of time and that we may need now more than ever.

And I had one more wish.

I hoped these books might also reach children who haven't yet heard much about God or Jesus. I wanted them to see the Bible not simply as an ancient book filled with stories from long ago, but as a fascinating world they could step into, explore, and perhaps take something meaningful from into their own lives.

Because I believe a good story can touch anyone's heart. And the stories of the Bible still have so much to tell us, even after thousands of years.

The Wolf Who Was Hungry for More

What happens when a wolf gets hungry? Really, REALLY hungry…

The smell of food lures him out of the forest and into a little town, where he meets a young girl named Leona. But she isn’t frightened of him one bit. She thinks he’s just an ordinary stray dog and decides to take him to Grandma’s house. The wolf is so surprised that he doesn’t even put up a fight. He obediently trots along behind her. His stomach is growling something fierce. And that smell… His mouth is already watering!

Grandma is making pancakes. What a lovely surprise! But a full plate isn’t the only thing waiting for this wolf. There’s also a bath—and a few more surprises that life in the forest certainly hasn’t prepared him for.

This funny, richly illustrated story of an unexpected friendship is the first in a series designed to help children build reading comprehension skills. Playful questions and word explanations encourage young readers to think about the story, make connections, and talk about what they’ve read.

The Wolf Who Was Hungry for More

I wanted to introduce children to a different kind of wolf. Not the scary creature they know from traditional fairy tales, but a funny, slightly clumsy character who finds himself on an unexpected adventure. I also wanted to show that friendship can blossom in the most surprising places.

Reading stories to children taught me a great deal. I began to realize how challenging reading can be for young learners. It's not just about figuring out the words — it's also about following the story and understanding what those words mean.

That's why I included little activities and questions on every page. They're designed to encourage children to pay attention, think about the story, and develop their reading comprehension skills.

For parents, these activities also offer a wonderful opportunity to talk with their children about the book, explore the story together, and turn everyday reading into special moments of connection.

Because above all, reading should be a joy.

And sometimes, that joy comes with the delicious smell of freshly made pancakes!
